The Order of the Daughters of the King (DOK) is a spiritual lay order for women in the Episcopal Church and throughout the Anglican Communion. Founded in 1885, the Order is dedicated to prayer, service, and evangelism, with a focus on deepening one’s relationship with Jesus Christ and spreading His Kingdom. Members wear a distinctive silver cross engraved with the motto Magnanimiter Crucem Sustine (“With heart, mind, and spirit, uphold and bear the cross”), signifying their commitment. Each member follows a Rule of Life that includes daily prayer—for the Church, its clergy, and the spread of Christ’s Kingdom—as well as active service to those in need, all within a supportive community of faith.
