LIFE & LEGACY PLANNING FAIR
This three-part series of presentations and Q&A discussions was held on the first three Sundays in February 2018 in the Parish Hall. To view each presentation click on the button at the end of each description.
On February 4th, Fr. David Nelson provided and overview of the importance placed on estate planning as outlined in the Book of Common Prayer. Then, Carolyn Ostrom, an attorney with extensive experience in estate planning, spoke about “Why You Need An Estate Plan Regardless Of Your Age.”
On February 11th, we discussed the methods of anticipating and managing effectively the various challenges that may occur at advanced ages (e.g., in-home assistance, hospice care, etc.). Our speaker was Lee Ann Hyatt, RN, BSN, who is the Hospice Clinical Educator at Silverado Hospice-North Houston.
Finally, on February 18th, Mark Browning, a Certified Trust & Financial Advisor (CTFA), discussed legacy stewardship and ways to witness to your spiritual commitments when developing your legacy plan. Mr. Browning spoke at the Diocesan Wardens & Vestry Conference in February 2017 on this subject and is the Endowment Chairman at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Bryan, Texas.
